Welcome, all politics students and enthusiasts!
The PolSoc online paper has been a fantastic, but so far under-utilised way for students to read and write about what matters most to us.
This year, we will be pushing the paper as a means of starting important conversations, entertaining and educating. The paper accepts submissions from all PolSoc members, and encourages everyone to get involved.
Although we are staying true to our long-read academic article style, we are introducing a new ‘arts and culture’ feature. This is to showcase how people are using creative educational tools to revolutionise political discourse. We want to hear your recommendations for anything from street art to poetry that engages with politics in a unique way.
Another new feature this year is the ‘academic spotlight’ as a way for you to share your areas of academic interest. We are asking for write-ins about anything from highlights of recent lectures and course readings, to political events and guest speakers at the University. We hope this will be an excellent forum for exploring new topics, sharing academic resources, but most importantly, sharing what you are passionate about.
Finally, we will be keeping up with PolSoc business. Here, we would love to hear about projects you have been involved in as part of the society, as well as recent trips and socials you have taken part in. The paper aims to promote both the excellent work our members are doing, and the society as a whole.
We look forward to publishing your submissions and sharing your thoughts.
Happy reading!
